Learning Environments
The teacher works with learners to create environments that support individual and collaborative learning, encouraging positive social interaction, active engagement in learning, and self-motivation.
This is an observation of an Infant/Toddler classroom at Educare that I did for ED324: Infant/Toddler Development. This showcases a learning environment that is designed for boosting child development in an array of areas.
This artifact is my Floorplan Project from my ED324 Infant/Toddler Development class. This is under standard 3 because it is a visual of an effective infant/toddler classroom that promotes the most learning. I was assigned the design my own classroom that would provide a healthy learning environment and I used mine using the game The Sims to create a 3D version of my floorplan.
I also included another link to my teaching philosophy. Even though this is already on my portfolio, I think it fits well under this standard. I have a lot of passion for the environment I want to create within my classroom and believe heavily in the influence of Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs.
These are photos of my classroom from student teaching. At the end of March, I rearranged the desks from table groups of four to a U shape. This was a nice change for the students and also allowed me to walk inside the U to check on all students. I also included the behavior management we used which was bucket fillers. The anchor chart is one that I made in March as a reminded to my students of how to earn pom-poms for their buckets.
